Given the option of following a new path in his life, long-time business man Juan Fernando Waidele decided to take on the agricultural business. This Chilean entrepreneur returned to his roots in every sense of the word. It was an opportunity to indulge to a personal passion, to leave the big city behind, and to move to southern Chile, to an area with a family history: the Maule Region. He decided to dedicate himself to the noble products tied to the history of humankind: olive oil and wine. Las Doscientas is a young extra virgin olive oil production project that has received international awards and recognition since its first harvest in 2005.
Present on the oldest tables of the Western world, olive oil has accompanied the history of humankind from its earliest times. Ancient olive trees have witnessed humanity’s large and small events and constituted an essential part of the diet, with outstanding health benefits, especially for its call to enjoy life. Today, Chile has also joined the ranks of olive-growing countries that produce excellent extra virgin olive oil, a new endeavor with great potential in the country.
